As per preliminary estimates total financial loss for States/UTs of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Pondicherry is estimated at Rs. 5322. 05 crore ( US dollar 1.18 billion). The figures for Tamil Nadu are Rs. 2730.70 crore, Andhra Pradesh Rs.720.73 crore, Kerala Rs. 1358.62 crore and Pondicherry Rs.512 crore. The detailed damage assessment for A&N Islands is being made.
